Giovanni is responsible for: International Contracts, Private M & A Corporate Law, Transport, Energy, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Giovanni takes care of the protection of foreign investments in Italy and those of Italians abroad.
After graduating in law from the University of Naples "Federico II" in 1993, Giovanni moved to New York until the end of 1997, where he worked in leading law firms in M & A, aviation and the transport sector. During this period he obtained a Certificate in Maritime and Transportation Law at the Pace University in New York in 1996.
In October 1997 he founded the Scognamiglio Law Firm and inaugurated the Shanghai office in 2006.
He has worked as the chair of European Community law and Public and Administrative Law at the University of Naples Parthenope. He has given seminars at the University of Shanghai Jiaotong University on the European legal system, and has facilitated the implementation of cooperation projects between Italian and Chinese universities.
He is the Founding President of the Propeller Club of the United States, International Port of Italy South, an international organization in operation since 1927 in the areas of shipping, aviation, aerospace and telecommunications, and European President of the same organization from 2007 to 2011.
He directed the US-European Joint Committee, an international relations and exchange body, which involves industrial and government entities.
He is a member of the UAE (European Lawyers' Union) and a member of its Transport Committee, a member of the Rotary Club, and a founding member of the SIMED (Italian Society for Mediation).
Giovanni writes articles on matters of international trade in law journals of national and international business.
